How to upload a large photography gallery reliably
Prepare a clean final folder, estimate the transfer using upload speed rather than download speed, use a resumable uploader, keep the device awake and retry failed files individually instead of restarting the whole gallery.
Prepare the batch
- Export only the intended client files.
- Use stable, unique filenames.
- Separate unsupported formats before starting.
- Confirm remaining device storage and power.
- Keep the source folder unchanged until completion.
Estimate the real transfer
Internet packages often advertise download speed, while gallery delivery depends on upload speed. Convert the total folder size into bits, divide by the measured upload rate and add a margin for protocol overhead, Wi-Fi variation and server processing.
The calculator on this site performs that estimate, but it cannot promise completion time. A busy shared connection, sleeping laptop or transient failure can change the result.
Use recovery instead of restarting
Large batches eventually encounter an interruption. A resilient workflow records progress in chunks and allows a failed file to resume or retry. Restarting the complete shoot wastes time and increases the chance of duplicates.

Upload complete is not delivery complete
After transfer, previews or thumbnails may still be processing. Open the client view, sample portrait and landscape images and check video playback before sending the gallery.
