Photo gallery upload time calculator

Enter the final gallery size and your measured upload rate. The estimate includes a practical overhead range, but connection changes, device sleep and server processing can still affect the final time.

How the calculation works

A gigabyte contains eight gigabits. The calculator converts the gallery size to megabits and divides it by the available megabits per second. It then adds a practical transfer margin to show a more realistic planning range.

The result covers transfer, not image processing. A gallery platform may still need time to create previews and thumbnails after every original arrives.

Improve the result

  • Pause unrelated backups and large downloads.
  • Keep the computer awake and connected to power.
  • Use a stable network close to the router or a wired connection.
  • Do not edit or move the source folder mid-transfer.
  • Use a system that can resume after interruptions.

How to upload a large photography gallery reliably

A reliable upload is planned around the real connection, the final export and recovery from individual failures.

Photography gallery storage calculator

Model the working set you expect to keep online; do not confuse gallery storage with your complete archive.

Delivering photos and video in one client gallery

Mixed-media delivery works when video supports the same story and remains understandable on the client’s device.

A clear client photo-selection workflow

A selection workflow needs a defined purpose, one selection method and a clear handover after the client finishes.

Client favourites vs full photo proofing

Favourites can support image selection, but the word proofing often describes a wider review and approval process.

How to organise a wedding client gallery

A wedding gallery should make a long day feel coherent without forcing the couple through an exhausting number of sections.
