Client favourites vs full photo proofing
A favourite records that a client likes or selects an image. Full proofing may also include named lists, selection limits, comments, revision requests and final approval. A gallery can support favourites without providing every proofing function.
What favourites do well
- Create a personal shortlist while viewing the complete gallery.
- Reduce copied filenames and email back-and-forth.
- Show the photographer which images attract attention.
- Support simple album, retouching or download conversations.

Lumara’s current boundary
Lumara lets gallery visitors add and remove favourites and lets the photographer see favourite engagement. It also provides a proof-sheet layout and a Proofing gallery status.
That should be described as favourites and photo selection. Do not promise comments, enforced limits, Lightroom synchronisation or formal approval history unless those features are implemented and tested.
Choose the right language
If the client is simply creating a shortlist, call it favourites or image selection. If the job requires approval, define exactly how approval is recorded and do not rely on an ambiguous icon.
