Lumara for photographers
How to organise a portrait or family gallery
Open with a strong portrait, group related settings or looks, remove near-duplicates and explain whether favourites are for a shortlist, retouching or downloads. Use private or password-protected access when the people and setting call for it.
Curate before organising
A long run of small expression changes makes the client do the photographer’s editing. Keep meaningful variations, but remove frames whose only difference is visible at 200 percent.
Order the gallery around changes the client can feel: location, outfit, lighting or relationship—not arbitrary file batches.
Make selections understandable
- State whether the client receives every image or chooses a set.
- Explain what a favourite triggers.
- Do not promise an enforced limit if the gallery does not enforce one.
- Use stable filenames if selections will move into another workflow.
Choose privacy deliberately
Family sessions, newborn work, private homes, boudoir and personal-brand photography carry different expectations. A password can provide controlled access, while public portfolio use needs separate permission and curation.
Prepare the repeat relationship
Record the client’s preferences and follow-up context with the job. The next session should begin with knowledge of the relationship, not a search through the old delivery email.
A clear client photo-selection workflow
A selection workflow needs a defined purpose, one selection method and a clear handover after the client finishes.
Client gallery privacy checklist
Privacy is a sequence of decisions about people, access, search, sharing and retention—not a single password switch.
Photography client and job management without the jargon
The useful system is the one that tells you who the work is for, what happens next and where the finished gallery belongs.
A better workflow for large event galleries
Large galleries need operational structure before visual polish: stable exports, resumable uploads, useful grouping and a client view that remains easy to browse.
Delivering photos and video in one client gallery
Mixed-media delivery works when video supports the same story and remains understandable on the client’s device.
